Zion Presbyterian Church announced today that a collection of furniture and other household goods for the needy will be conducted at the church on Saturday, May 21st from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The collection is in support of “Project Move,” a county-wide effort by the Hope Center in Waukesha to provide furniture and other household items to needy individuals and families throughout the county.The Zion church collection site establishes a convenient location for lake country residents to participate in Project Move.
Community residents can bring items for donation directly to the Zion church site at N13W28771 Silvernail Road (about 1 mile west of the intersection of highway SS and Silvernail road.) Items being accepted include appliances, baby furniture, coffee tables, dining room tables and chairs, dressers, end tables, mattresses and box springs, beds, kitchen tables and chairs, lamps, living room chairs, loveseats and small couches, TVs up to 27 inches, TV stands (no entertainment centers), window air conditioners and fans. All items must be in good usable condition and suitably sized for apartment use. Items with rips, stains or animal hair will not be accepted. Tax receipts will be provided upon request.
Clothing and shoes can also be donated at the Zion Church collection site. “The need for men’s clothing and shoes is particularly strong at this time,” noted Griselle Cruz, the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Hope Center.
Hope Center (http://HopeCenterWI.org) is a non-profit organization that has been providing hope to those in need in Waukesha County for more than twenty years. Zion Presbyterian Church has partnered with Hope Center to collect and deliver household items to needy individuals and families in the area.
